Presenting a Special Collection with Contemporary Artist buggy

Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger presents a contemporary collection fusing fashion and sports as well as heritage and innovation.

In the twelve-year sexagenary cycle, 2022 is the Year of the Tiger, the brand symbol of Onitsuka Tiger.
In commemoration, we’ve prepared a variety of goods with the motif of the zodiacal tiger.

For the occasion we’ve commissioned original graphics from buggy, an artist who has created fluid, impactful portraits of the current generation of media stars including supermodels, fashion designers, celebrities, heroes and heroines. We present a special collection of goods printed with original Onitsuka Tiger graphics playfully designed by buggy.

This is the second collaboration between Onitsuka Tiger and buggy, the first being in 2018 when we commissioned artworks from him for a festival event we sponsored.

T-shirts imprinted with the tiger, Onitsuka Tiger’s brand symbol, will be offered only in Japan.

The zodiacal tiger is said to bestow good fortune. Be sure to enjoy the new take on this motif in Onitsuka Tiger’s “Tiger Goods.”

Starting Friday, April 22 2022, advance sales will commence on Onitsuka Tiger’s E-commerce site in Japan. Beginning on Thursday, April 28 2022, in-store sales will commence (certain stores in Japan excepted).

Real name: Tatsuya Taniguchi. In 2002, after working in a design studio, began creative activities under the name “buggy.” Has held one-man shows at the Kobe Fashion Museum (2005) and at Osaka’s digmeout CAFE (2006), and has produced numerous original works for group exhibitions in Japan and abroad. Recently, has created artwork for the covers of magazines such as Numero TOKYO, VOGUE JAPAN and FIGARO japon as well as jacket art for CDs. Garnered attention for his art direction of Chinatsu Wakatsuki’s WC brand catalog as well as for her publication “Usotsuki Chinatsu.” Received the Yoshitaka Amano Award at UNIQLO CREATIVE AWARD 2007.
